The Bulldogs’ 2026 season came to a close Tuesday in the losers bracket — a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Imperial 12U at Holyoke, despite out-hitting them 4-3.
Scoring:
- Top 1: Tyndle M. singled to drive in a run. 1-0 Bulldogs.
- Bot 1: Emma doubled down the left-field line. 1-1.
- Bot 3: Brylee singled in a run, Kaydence walked in another. 3-1 Imperial.
Pitching battle: Kortlyn C. opened in the circle and gave the Bulldogs every chance — four innings, three hits, three runs, seven strikeouts (and seven walks). Imperial’s Leah went five strong: four hits, two runs, eight strikeouts, three walks. Both staffs combined for 15 K.
Haxtun hits: Phoenix B., #23, Palmer H., and Tyndle M. each had one. RBIs from #23 and Tyndle M.
On the basepaths: the Bulldogs ran like the playoffs — nine stolen bases. Kyla W. and Tyndle each swiped multiple. Imperial answered with seven of their own.
Defense: zero errors as a team. Palmer H. led the field with eight chances. The defense held — three runs over five-plus innings — but the offense couldn’t push enough runs across.
That ends the 2026 season for the Bulldogs at 2-9 overall (2-7 regular season + an 0-2 tournament run). A summer of growth, two wins worth celebrating, and a roster that battled to the last out.
