Even though the Bulldogs collected the only hit of the game, they couldn’t keep pace with Sedg-Co 12U, falling 5-1 on Thursday at the Julesburg baseball field. Tyndle M led Haxtun with the lone hit.
Haxtun got on the board first when Delaney P drew a bases-loaded walk in the top of the first inning, scoring one run. Sedg-Co answered immediately in the bottom of the first as Charlotte W, Kenzie D, Paislie M, and Charlie C each walked with runners aboard, plating four runs. Another walk by Charlotte stretched the lead to 5-1 in the bottom of the second.
Callie T earned the win for Sedg-Co — four innings, one hit, one run, 12 strikeouts, seven walks. Tyndle M took the loss for the Bulldogs, going two-thirds of an inning and surrendering four runs (none earned, all on walks) with two strikeouts and six walks.
Delaney drove in the Bulldogs’ only run. Maddie B, Amber E, and Tyndle each stole multiple bases, and the team piled up 10 stolen bases for the game on top of seven walks at the plate. Defensively, Haxtun didn’t commit a single error — Palmer H made the most plays with seven.
The Bulldogs welcome Grant 12U on Tuesday for their next game.
